What the notice

What matters is the exact product name and the batch number (LOT). The brand name alone does not mean that your pack is among the recalled products.
Deviations in manufacturing
In two examined batches of ultra-thin latex condoms from Richter Rubber Technology, defects in burst strength and leak-tightness were found. According to the French decree, the cause lies in fluctuations in a particular manufacturing process.
It was not possible to narrow it down reliably
Possibly affected sub-batches could not be precisely delimited on the basis of the manufacturer’s records. Further batches from the same process were therefore included. This does not prove a defect in every single condom; the listed batches must nevertheless no longer be used.

I cannot find my LOT number. What now?
Look on the box and on the individual wrapper. The batch is usually marked with “LOT”. If the information is missing or illegible, or if you cannot reliably identify the product, contact your point of sale or our customer service.
Is every condom in a listed batch defective?
The recall does not prove a defect for every single condom. Because the possibly affected sub-batches could not be reliably delimited, the measure covers further batches from the same process. Nevertheless, the following applies to all listed batches: do not use them any further.
How are condoms tested in general?
The ISO 4074 standard describes requirements and test methods for latex condoms. These include tests for freedom from holes, burst pressure and burst volume, as well as requirements for packaging and shelf life. Batch evaluation works with defined samples.
Product tests and audits serve different purposes: audits examine quality management and its application. A certificate does not replace the need to observe a later recall.
Does this information only apply to France?
The list is based on notices from the French authorities. The French ministry also reports on affected goods on the European market. The country of purchase alone is therefore no reason to give the all-clear. If there is a match, please do not use the goods any further and contact your point of sale.
